Persistence and optimism of the people stuck in Sarajevo during the four-year long siege resulted with a secret, underground way out. This unusual idea was one of the most important projects during the war, and it symbolized hope. The hope of the people that they would survive, get to feed their children, and buy some medicines. Some of the people lost their lives in this project, but on the other hand, more than two million others passed through the tunnel by the end of the war. The tunnel is now turned into a museum and witnesses the most painful period for Bosnian people. It was the only way out of the city, and it is definitely worth seeing. No other object in the history evokes this amount of emotions.
